Prototype

Prototype is a “famous” killing project at Amfi. It was the first time behind a sewiwgmachine for me and the first time drawing. We needed to make 20 experiments. By doing that I learned that the experiment phase is important and that you should never not make more than one ideas or options. Thanks to this project I know the basics of how the making of a garment goes. In combination with the theory out of bleu is the new black where we’ve had an exam about. I did a lot of research in fabrics and learned different techniques of sewing. This will help me understand designers and clothing in general much better.

Style research

The assignment inspiration book introduced me to independent magazines. I have watched in a lot of books and learned to keep an eye on the details on the streets. Things that tell where the avant garde is focusing on. My research was very broad and big but sadly I did not translate it very inspiring into an inspiration book. I did not have any experience with layouts and graphic design. Later said I would have made it very different but this is part of my proces and I did learn how to research.

The first creative project I have ever made in my life. The first time working with indesign. The first time researching. The first time working at Amfi. Without any experiences I started. I think, 2,5 years later it is nice to see that I still like a clean layout en still use a lot and bright colours. Now I just know what to do with my style. But even without all the lessons it was already clear what my style is.
